Code in Python with a new AI assistant built at RMIT and learn to check what it writes. A free hands-on workshop, open to complete beginners.

AI can write code in seconds. Knowing whether that code is right is the skill that counts. In this hands-on workshop you’ll practise both, so you can move quickly with AI and still build solid foundations.

Hosted by RMIT AI Advanced Innovation Experience Hub (RAIsE) you’ll code in Python in VS Code with a new AI coding assistant beside you, built by RMIT teams in Melbourne and Vietnam. They’ll talk you through why they made it. This is a pilot, so your feedback will help shape how RMIT teaches coding with AI.

We’ll also show you an AI workflow for education in action: a citation tool built with an AI coding agent in a few hours.

Who can come?

Everyone is welcome, from people who have never coded to junior coders. There’s nothing to prepare. Just bring a laptop.
