Led by and for women of colour, the gathering offers a culturally safe space to share experiences, build connections and take part in conversations, workshops and activities centred on community, solidarity and joy.
The program will include panel discussions, interactive workshops, networking, a shared meal and market stalls featuring women of colour-owned businesses.

Women of Colour Melbourne is seeking RMIT students who identify as women of colour to volunteer at the gathering. Volunteers will help create a welcoming and culturally safe experience for attendees through activities such as registration, ushering, stall and catering support, and assisting in program rooms.
A range of shifts is available, with the greatest need for support between 7am and 3pm. Selected volunteers will receive an induction, a clear role and supervisor, breaks and refreshments, free entry to the gathering and lunch.
Volunteer places are limited. Register your interest by 5pm Thursday 8 October 2026.
The gathering is a dedicated space led by and for women of colour.
Women of Colour Melbourne describes this as a self-identifying community that centres women who experience systemic racism and marginalisation because of visible difference, ethnicity or cultural background. Trans and intersex women are included.
People who do not identify as women of colour are asked to respect the purpose of the gathering. Those wishing to support Women of Colour Melbourne as allies can make a donation through the registration page.
Women of Colour Melbourne is a grassroots not-for-profit organisation committed to empowering women of colour across Melbourne and Victoria by creating safe spaces, fostering belonging and advocating for equity.
The organisation provides opportunities for women of colour to connect, heal and grow through events, cultural workshops and storytelling initiatives.
