Overview

Visual Branding is about selling or promoting by means of presentation, involving store display and design, exhibition design, event design, photographic styling and theming. Learn the principles of Visual Branding by working through your own practical project, from concept development to the final construction. Talk through processes, methods and design solutions with class discussions, and see your own ideas come to life as a display and merchandise installation.

Prerequisites

No prior knowledge or experience is necessary for this introductory course.

Materials supplied

Materials required for the course will be provided. All relevant course notes are supplied with comprehensive instructions and exercises.

Materials to bring

A list of materials you will be required to purchase will be supplied prior to the course commencing.

Suited to

VCE students, or adults interested in further study or employment in the Visual Merchandising industry, or any person with an interest in the process of producing a display for a commercial environment.

Additional notes

Participation has no influence on the selection of students into RMIT award programs. Short Course activities may include opportunity to prepare for a folio, experience of the studio environment, provide an industry and study overview, and assistance with study options.

Outcome

Students will have a folio of sketches, drawings and photographs of finished branding display. Students will gain skills and knowledge in sketching techniques, studio workshop process and arranging branding.

Upon finishing the course you will receive a RMIT Certificate of Completion. You can use this as a record to demonstrate the outcomes covered in the course.
