Katherine Buzza, Short Course Coordinator (Narrator): Short courses are courses run through the university schools that range from one day to three months, and they are non-accredited programs, which means that they don't have assessment tasks. They're just courses that are really practical, hands-on, and a great way to build new skills.

Narrator: We get a wide variety of people doing the short courses. Anyone over 16 can enrol in a short course as long as they meet some of the prerequisites, but a lot of the courses are really entry level so anyone can do them.
[Visual] Male student sits in video editing laboratory and begins to edit footage on a computer.
They're good for people that are already studying or working because they schedule the courses in time slots that are targeting those kind of people with busy lifestyles. People do short courses for a wide variety of reasons such as just to do a fun hobby on the weekend or after work.

Additionally, people will come to up-skill for their jobs or they're looking to get into a new profession, as well as people that are interested in further study but want to try out the university before committing to a degree.
[Visual]Teachers in classroom environment talking to students.
Narrator:The teachers are fantastic. They're industry experts. A lot of the teachers are working in their fields, and so there's a really big emphasis on bringing in a lot of that knowledge from industry for the classroom environment.
