I chose to be involved with the IAB as the direction of tertiary education is paramount to the development of the future of our profession, and collaboration between industry and the university is critical to ensuring the university and the profession keep abreast of changes and give students and future employers a more compelling experience.

Dennis is a Partner in our Corporate Finance team with over 17 years of experience in Forensic Accounting and Corporate Advisory roles, including the past twelve years working exclusively on Forensic Accounting and Business Valuation matters.

Dennis is an experienced commercial litigation specialist and has extensive loss and damage, valuation, forensic accounting and investigations experience. Dennis’ experience consists of undertaking numerous independent and consulting expert assignments for a wide variety of legal, government and private sector clients.

Dennis has prepared reports and given evidence in many Australian courts, including Federal Court, Supreme Court of Victoria, Country Court of Victoria, Family Court and several administrative and arbitral tribunals. Over his career to date, Dennis has prepared over 300 expert reports, independent accountant reports or submissions on behalf of clients involved in dispute processes.

Dennis has a broad experience in many types of commercial disputes, including loss quantification, disputes involving accounting standards, account reconstruction, loss of opportunity, shareholder oppression, post-acquisition/purchase price disputes, insurance claims, intellectual property matters, franchise disputes, financial investigations and assessments of solvency.

Dennis presents to the legal profession on a regular basis on accounting, finance, solvency and expert witness matters, having given over 70 presentations over the past seven years to various law firms and legal associations. Dennis was also a founding member of the Alumni Council for the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne, has been a student mentor through the University of Melbourne for more than 12 years and is a mentor through Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

“I have always maintained a vested interest in assisting universities and their students with improving their student experience and their value to future employers – at the core of our business is people, and universities like RMIT play a critical role in providing business with future staff and leaders. I joined the IAB as it provides me an opportunity to provide more decisive value-add to the university and learn from other industry leaders from diverse backgrounds.”
