The Office of Indigenous Education Research and Engagement

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education, Research and Engagement has oversight of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander activities University-wide and represents RMIT externally in Indigenous matters.

About us

The Office includes the Ngarara Willim Centre, which is the Indigenous space within the University focused on student services, engagement and providing a gathering place for RMIT’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff and Community.  

Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education, Research and Engagement

Professor Gary Thomas is RMIT’s first Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education, Research and Engagement. 

Professor Thomas leads the University’s Indigenous policy, strategy and engagement with partnerships, and provides insight and directions in education, innovation and research, employment and Community engagement.
