A welcome from the Dean of Education at RMIT

"A warm welcome to the School of Education at RMIT! I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the Woi wurrung and Boon wurrung language groups of the eastern Kulin Nation where our School is located and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Our School of Education is part of the College of Design and Social Context which also houses other disciplines such as Art, Design, Media and Communication, Fashion and Textiles, Architecture and Urban Design, Property Management, Construction and Global Studies. There is great strength in our aligned endeavours and collectively, we are internationally renowned for our innovative, tech-savvy and creative thinking which we apply to all aspects of our teaching and research initiatives.

Creativity and care are in our DNA and is a defining feature of the way we work and prepare our future teachers. The School of Education houses the distinctive Creative Agency Research Lab where we have several co-designed projects with children and young people to help them take active roles in addressing the many global issues they face.

We also offer fully online our Graduate Diploma of Career Education, a degree distinctive for equipping educators to support the diverse career futures for all students.

RMIT has a global reputation for creating powerful industry-based learning opportunities and our alumni are testament to our high employability rating. Our School has strong networked alliances with a range of early childhood, primary and secondary schools in Victoria and partnerships both nationally and internationally, enabling our students to experience diverse learning environments and contexts. We are also proud of our unique partnerships with a range of learning institutions such as ACMI and the NGV. In studying with us, students have access to diverse work-integrated learning experiences to develop a range of skills in curating learning activities for all age groups across multi-model environments.

RMIT is a large dual-sector university with many pathway opportunities. In the School of Education, no matter the background, we are well placed to know all our students and to see them shine in the many career opportunities that an education qualification provides. It is a great privilege to be the Dean of this amazing School with wonderful people, programs and places. I encourage you to connect with us and learn more about what we offer and how you can join us. "
