RMIT University’s Business & Human Rights Centre (BHRIGHT) invites you to join us for the launch of its new research theme, Work in Transition, on 1 December 2022.
This important event will include a keynote address by Sharan Burrow, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), who will be joining us in person. A panel discussion and Q&A will follow, exploring the role of unions in advancing justice for workers in a time of great economic, social and technological upheaval.

About Sharan Burrow
Sharan Burrow was elected General Secretary of the ITUC in 2010. Prior to this, she held the positions of ITUC President and ICFTU President. She is the first woman to have held any of these positions. In 2000, Sharan Burrow became the second woman to be elected President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU). She has also served as a member of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation and is a member or ambassador of a number of international commissions on climate action, industrial transition and economic reform.
