Birrarangga Film Festival is a celebration of Indigenous filmmakers from across the globe showcasing their unique stories in Melbourne. Join us for a special opening night event at The Capitol on Thursday 23 March for the Australian premiere of Marie Clements' psychological drama, Bones of Crows.
Bones of Crows is a psychological drama told through the eyes of Cree Matriarch Aline Spears, as she survives Canada's residential school system to continue her family's generational fight in the face of systemic starvation, racism, and sexual abuse. Bones of Crows unfolds over one hundred years with a cumulative force that propels us into the future.
Opening night celebrations include a Welcome to Country with a special performance by the Djirri Djirri dance group, a premiere screening and an afterparty.
