Creating exceptional student experiences

RMIT has achieved a five-star rating for the key areas of Learner Engagement and Staff Qualifications in the 2021 Good Universities Guide for the fifth consecutive year. The University also achieved a five-star rating for Skills Development for the second consecutive year.

These latest results consolidate the University’s strong reputation for preparing students for the future world of work and life.

The Good Universities Guide has been published annually since 1992, comparing the performance of Australian universities and higher education providers to inform potential students about degree programs at a national level. The ratings have been based on a student experience survey for the past few years.

Professor Belinda Tynan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice-President, said the results reflect RMIT’s focus on giving students exceptional experiences and setting them up for future success.

“It is wonderful to see that our students continue to show such high levels of engagement and are developing many skills needed for work and life,” she said.

“These results really highlight that our students value the rich educational experience at RMIT.

“Now more than ever, we are seeing the importance of gaining practical skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

“Our strong industry and global connections and work integrated learning are giving our students exceptional experiences and opportunities.

“RMIT’s flexible pathways to learning, micro-credentials and courses across a range of disciplines also provide students with choice and the support to achieve their individual goals for the future.

“We are proud that these results also highlight the outstanding quality of teaching and commitment of our staff to students and their learning.”
