New Skills and Jobs Centre opens at Bundoora

RMIT’s second Skills and Jobs Centre has opened at RMIT’s Bundoora campus – offering free, expert advice on training, re-skilling, and job options for prospective students, job seekers and members of the community.

In partnership with the Victorian Department of Education and Training and the Victorian Skills Authority, the Centre provides support and information to local community and prospective students on a range of topics – everything from career advice on entering the workforce or changing career, to apprenticeship and traineeship advice and resume writing.

The College of Vocational Education Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Mish Eastman, was joined by Craig Robertson, Chief Executive Officer at Victorian Skills Authority, and a range of government and community partners as we officially opened the new Skills and Jobs Centre at RMIT’s Bundoora campus.

Mish Eastman shared that the valuable location of our Bundoora campus means that our students and other job seekers will have access to community and industry partners they may not have been aware of otherwise.

“Expanding our service offering to Bundoora will help RMIT connect with employers, schools and community stakeholders in the Northern corridor – which is such an important growth area for local jobs and skills.”

RMIT’s first Skills and Jobs Centre located at the city campus opened in 2016, and since its establishment, has provided over 7,000 career counselling sessions with students and community clients, worked with many community stakeholders and employers, and helped thousands into employment or study.

As well as servicing Victorian residents and citizens through the Centre, RMIT also provides career support through VE Career Support and the Job Shop. These free services are available for RMIT students to receive one-on-one consultation and advice on career planning.
