The Prime Minister spoke of APEC’s evolution, now representing over 60 per cent of global GDP and facilitating 75 per cent of Australia’s trade, and emphasised how forums like APEC cultivate business partnerships, drive innovation and support mutual economic growth. He underscored the value of open, inclusive, rules-based trade, dialogue and cooperation as shaping a future of stability and opportunity across the region.

The AASC joined RMIT in 2009 and continues to be a catalyst for policy discussion and collaborative solutions, advancing Australia’s economic engagement with Asia and the Pacific. RMIT's commitment to impactful research, education and regional partnerships is underlined by our ongoing relationship with the AASC as a long-term partner.

RMIT University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Alec Cameron closed proceedings saying “as a university deeply embedded across the Asia Pacific, we’re proud to be at the forefront supporting our region adapt through a time of unparalleled transformation. We see first-hand the tangible benefits of positive dialogue, innovation, and exchange between neighbouring economies.”
