Interlocation enrolment guide – Inbound students

For students at RMIT international partners who have been approved to undertake study at RMIT Melbourne for one semester.

This page guides you through the steps to complete your enrolment and get ready for your studies at RMIT Melbourne.

Enrol in courses you’ll be studying in Melbourne using Enrolment Online and following steps in the Higher education enrolment guide for international students.

Australian mailing address

As part of the enrolment process, you will need to provide an Australian mailing address. If you haven’t found any accommodation in Melbourne yet, please use the following address as your mailing address: RMIT, 124 La Trobe Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.

Once you've found permanent accommodation in Melbourne, update your mailing address by following the instructions to update your personal details.

Important information for your enrolment

  • Use ‘Class search’ in Enrolment Online to find and add classes listed in your course request outcome
Exchange enrolment guide
  • As part of your visa conditions, you must be enrolled in 48 credit points per semester unless you have approval to enrol in 36 credit points
  • If you want to enrol in any courses not listed in your course request outcome, you must seek approval first. Contact the Global Learning Office through Student Connect to seek re-approval.

To cancel your interlocation studies

If you wish to cancel your interlocation studies, contact the Global Learning Office through Student Connect.

Update your contact details

Once you’ve completed your interlocation study in Melbourne and returned to your home country, change your mailing address back to your home country residence by following the instructions to Update your personal details.

Transcripts

Your academic transcript will show a note stating that you’ve completed a mobility activity at RMIT Melbourne, together with grades for courses you’ve completed in Melbourne which will count towards your overall academic performance or Grade Point Average (GPA).
