Professor Victor Gekara

Professor Gekara’s research interests are diversely located within the Sociology, Political Economy and Business Management disciplines. Specifically, his research focuses on industrial transformations, as a result of changing technologies and global economic shifts, and the impact on the future of work, workforce skills and employment. His recent research has focused on the changing nature of work and the implications for the future of work in the transport and logistics sector. Victor has received several research grants to develop work in the area of research, including two large National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) grants, a National Climate Change Adaptability Research Facility (NCCARF) grant and an iMOVE CRC grant.

Professor Babak Abbasi

Professor Abbasi’s research focuses on industry-motivated quantitative modelling and decision making under uncertainty applied to healthcare delivery improvement, supply chain coordination, resources allocation, service operations management, and manufacturing. He was the recipient of RMIT Research Impact Award (Enterprise) in 2016. He is a member of the Australian Society for Operations Research.

Professor Prem Chhetri

Professor Chhetri’s research is broadly located in spatially integrated analytics and urban logistics. His recent research focused on port logistics, climate change, urban modelling, tourism potential mapping, emergency response, skills and training, and the application of GIS and GPS in transport, infrastructure and logistics planning. Prem has received several Australian Research Council and federal and state government grants to study quality of urban life, spatial labour markets, urban fire and emergency planning, logistics clusters, innovation and growth, and climate change and port logistics.

Associate Professor Richard Tay

Associate Professor Tay’s research is in Urban Transport and has over 25 years of experience in research, and translating research into policy and practice, particularly in transportation and logistics, health and safety, and consumer demand and choices.
