Diversity Accelerated Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The Diversity-Accelerated Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Group is committed to providing insights and evidence-based recommendations on how to increase and ensure diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship and innovation. Our vision is to link research to practice and be at the forefront of understanding and bringing about change in the pursuit of entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities. We aim to: 1) understand and enable diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurial, intrapreneurial and innovation activities; and 2) engage in regular dialogues with stakeholders about entrepreneurial and innovation opportunities, challenges, and desired outcomes.

We are a team of highly dedicated researchers, committed to working together towards Sustainable Development Goals by increasing and ensuring gender equality (SDG 5) and enhancing industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9).

Research Themes

Innovation & Firm Growth

We aim to investigate how firms can achieve and sustain growth through intrapreneurship and innovation. Our goal is to work together with organisations to address their challenges and opportunities and provide expert advice to company executives and policy makers on enhancing innovation performance.

Diversity and Inclusion in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Mainstream research has highlighted the numerous barriers and reasons as to why individuals become entrepreneurs. However, existing studies have not extensively considered diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship, and there is a need to further understand this in a global world. Our goal is to increase our understanding of diversity in the entrepreneurial processes, enablers, and outcomes, and provide evidence-based recommendations to support entrepreneurship and innovation.
