Psycho at The Capitol

RMIT Culture is showing Alfred Hitchcock's eerie classic, Psycho, on the big screen at The Capitol!

In partnership with the Mapping Global Horror Conference, RMIT Culture is excited to show a Hitchcock classic at The Capitol. The film will be introduced by horror studies specialist Adam Lowenstein from the University of Pittsburgh. The event is presented in collaboration with Cinema Studies at RMIT and the Mapping Global Horror: Australia, Japan & beyond Conference at ACMI.

With its unconventional approach to horror filmmaking, Psycho shattered norms and established a new standard for generations to come. The film's powerful ability to manipulate its audience remains a hallmark of cinematic technique. Anthony Perkins' gripping portrayal of the deranged motel owner, alongside Janet Leigh's captivating performance as the doomed thief, and Bernard Herrmann's hauntingly discordant musical score, all contribute to making Psycho Alfred Hitchcock's most carefully crafted work.

This screening is part of RMIT Culture's Best Films You've Never Seen, a collaboration between RMIT Culture and RMIT Cinema Studies.
