FAQ

RMIT are collaborating with AWS and AARNet to provide Australia’s first Commercial Cloud Supercomputing facility, enabling true scalable and elastic high powered compute to support collaborations with Students, Academics, Researchers and Industry.

By combining the latest network technologies from AARNet with industry leading Cloud capabilities of Amazon Web Services, and RMIT research expertise, the facility will drive transformational research by reducing the time taken between a user’s concept and their desired outcome.

We are leveraging the scalability and flexibility of the cloud to enable researchers, academics and students achieve their goals. With faster time to science researchers will be better equipped to deliver transformative collaborative outcomes between Students, Academics, Researchers and Industry.

With existing supercomputing infrastructure in high demand and complexity hindering the use of cloud services, the RACE Hub will allow researchers to be to access a self-serve portal and very high speed connectivity to meet demand across the organisation and the ability to simulate their supercomputing in a cost effective, accessible platform.

By offering pre-configured options with cost estimates in a browsable service catalogue, cloud computing will be simpler and easier for researchers.

It will transform collaborative and research opportunities for academic, industry partners.

The RACE Hub will be located on the Ground Floor, Building 91, 110 Victoria Street, Carlton, VIC 3053.

Yes - there will be training sessions and supporting materials to assist you with using RACE Hub.

Please contact the RACE Hub team at race@rmit.edu.au.
