Overview

This assessment is only available to RMIT students who have completed the Cert III in Plumbing.

The Plumbing Registration Exam assesses if an individual has the skills and knowledge required to work as a registered plumber. The VBA examiners test an individuals knowledge and understanding of six main classes of plumbing work: Drainage, Gasfittng, Mechanical Services, Roofing, Sanitary and Water Supply.
Revision classes are held the week before the exams. You cannot complete the exam until you have completed your Victorian Certificate III in Plumbing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Available to RMIT Cert III Plumbing students only. You must complete your Cert III in Plumbing before booking the Journeymans Exam. Candidates who have yet to complete their Cert III Plumbing at RMIT will not be accepted.

Students from TAFE colleges outside of RMIT must contact the VBA to book their exam.

Course content

Revision classes and Examination

To help you pass your Plumbing Registration Exam, revision classes are held the week before the exams. Please note the VBA states that students must complete all units in the Victorian Certificate III in Plumbing qualification before booking the exam.

How to enrol

Step 1: Register into a course

Select 'Enrol' and use the webform to register your details for the course you want to study.

Step 2: Make payment

Complete your payment online. Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been made. Submit any eligibility for discounts prior to payment.

Step 3: Await email confirmation

You will receive a short course tax invoice email when your booking's finalised. You will then receive a course confirmation email, with additional course details, approximately one week prior to course commencement.

Prerequisites


This assessment is available to RMIT students who have completed the Cert III in Plumbing. You must complete all units in the Cert III Plumbing before booking. Candidates with incomplete units will not be accepted.

We are unable to accept students from other trade schools. If you completed your training at another school, please contact your school or VBA to discuss your options.

Materials supplied

All relevant materials, assessment equipment and examinations are included.

Materials to bring

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), tools and optional equipment.

Suited to

Plumbing apprentices who have completed the current Victorian Certificate III in Plumbing training at RMIT. Candidates from other trade schools cannot be admitted.
