Forty Thousand Horseman

As part of the ANZAC commemorations, the Friends of the National Film & Sound Archive presents a rare 35mm screening of Forty Thousand Horsemen (1940),

Charles Chauvel's iconic Australian war film depicting the courage and camaraderie of the Light Horse during the First World War. The event will open with a selection of wartime short films, followed by a live pre‑feature performance from the Capitol Orchestra, playing period and war‑themed music.
