What we do
The School of Graduate Research (SGR) at RMIT University provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of graduate research. As the central coordinating body, SGR upholds the quality, integrity, and accreditation of RMIT’s Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) programs across the University’s three Australian campuses, two campuses in Vietnam, and its research and innovation hub in Spain.
SGR cultivates a vibrant, inclusive, and globally connected research culture, supporting more than 2,700 HDR candidates to generate impactful knowledge and innovation across diverse disciplines. In close collaboration with Schools, Colleges, Portfolios, and external partners, SGR manages the entire HDR lifecycle, from admissions and scholarships through to candidature management, examination, and completion.
SGR delivers its mission through three service focused teams; Research Education & Supervisor Training, Research Training Services and HDR Policy & Strategy; working together to drive excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in graduate research training at RMIT.
