The RMIT Business & Law Centre for African Engagement (CAE) has forged strong relationships abroad, formalising Memorandum of Understanding’s with:
The Centre is working towards joint activities with each institution with a focus on Skills and Development in emerging markets in Sub-Saharan Africa, Entrepreneurship & Innovation as well as Digital Education and Research
In July and August members from CAE met with Ambassadors and High Commissioners from African nations to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
Members met with representatives from Mauritius, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Morocco, Uganda, Zambia, Botswana and Burkina Faso as the Centre works to engage internationally and also connect with diaspora communities in Australia.
“We are aiming to foster meaningful collaborations that address shared challenges and create opportunities for mutual growth and development. We hope to establish a two-way dialogue between African stakeholders while the Centre embeds our College of Business and Law’s deep strength in understanding the intersection of technology and business and law,” said CAE Co-Director Professor Victor Gekara.
As part of CAE’s commitment to serving and creating impact for community groups across Victoria, our members have initiated outreach with various African community groups, including Ethiopian Community Victoria, Kenya Community Victoria, and Nigeria Society Victoria. We’re also strengthening existing relationships in Wyndham City with the Wyndham City Council and Wyndham Community Education Centre. Collaborations with community welfare organisations such as Afri Aus Care and Good Shepherd are helping us connect with real-life initiatives and projects. This marks the beginning of the Centre’s journey, as it works to translate these engagements into ongoing initiatives and meaningful outcomes.
