RMIT has a proud history of Vocational Education (VE). Founded more than 130 years ago as a ‘Working Men’s College’, RMIT’s original motto ‘a skilled hand, a cultivated mind’ still resonates today, with the university growing into a leading global vocational and higher education institution.
The College of VE incorporates the fields of business, design and technology, media, art and communication, social care, engineering technology, nursing, computer science, myotherapy and dental studies.
We provide high quality vocational programs to school leavers, existing workers and employers. Through a range of certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas and associate degrees.
With robust ties to industry through effective engagement and deep collaboration, the College of VE provides rich discipline knowledge and a learning and teaching delivery model that aligns to both current and future student and industry needs.
VE is a key component of RMIT’s success and a key component of the university’s ‘Knowledge with Action’ strategy. RMIT is committed to growing its strength in VE as it embarks on delivering our new strategic roadmap EVOLVE @ RMIT, to support the college’s vision and future growth
The College of VE is known as an area of the University that is unashamedly focused on high quality outcomes and impacts for our students, industry partners and the communities we serve.
