Dr Brendan Barrett

Dr Brendan Barrett has spent the greater part of his professional career working with the UN implementing an extensive range of educational and communication projects, including founding the bi-lingual Our World magazine.


Brendan is a specially appointed professor in the Center for the Study of Co*Design at Osaka University, Japan where he teaches and undertakes research around the themes of science communication, sustainability and ethical urbanism.

He holds visiting professorships at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability and at the University of Tokyo Institute of Future Initiatives.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (UK) and has spent the greater part of professional career working with the United Nations implementing an extensive range of educational and communication projects, including founding the bi-lingual Our World magazine and producing several award-winning documentaries for an extensive range of clients.
