Manage apprentices and trainees using VEESS

Vocational Education Employer Self Service (VEESS) is an online self-service application developed by RMIT for employers of Victorian apprentices and trainees. 

For each of your apprentices and trainees you can:

  • View each day’s attendance and future attendance schedule
  • View training and assessment progress
  • Review and confirm competence at course level for apprentices
  • Review and confirm competence on completion of qualification
  • Review and approve training plans.

Frequently asked questions

As soon as you have employed your apprentice or trainee you need to contact an Apprenticeship Support Network Provider who can assist you with the following:

  • Inform the apprentice/trainee of employment conditions.
  • Complete a Training Agreement.
  • Make provision for superannuation for the apprentice/trainee.
  • Make sure the apprentice/trainee is covered by a WorkCover policy.
  • Confirm Commonwealth Government incentives available to you as an employer.
  • Make sure apprentice/trainee is enrolled at RMIT.
  • A Training Plan must be negotiated and developed with RMIT and the apprentice/trainee.
  • The employer, the apprentice/trainee and RMIT must all sign the Training Plan.
  • Apply for Commonwealth incentives after the three-month waiting period.
  • Prepare on-the-job training as described in the training program.

VEESS Manage Users Quick Reference Guide

If you set up and manage VEESS users for your company, you need this simple, one-page guide with step-by-step instructions.

  • creating new users
  • granting and removing access for existing users
  • updating users’ delegate and preferred contact access.

VEESS is unique to RMIT: no other training provider of apprenticeship and traineeship programs offers a system like VEESS. Benefits of using VESS include:

  • A faster approval processes.

Eligibility is based on a large number of factors, including location and citizenship, age and prior education.
