Blak & Bright First Nations Literary Festival

Blak & Bright First Nations Literary Festival brings together the world's oldest storytelling traditions in bold and innovative ways. Featuring over 65 exciting storytellers in a program of 27 events from oral stories to epic novels, from poems to monologues and from history to activism.

Presented in partnership with RMIT Culture, the Blak & Bright Literary Festival's Opening night will be taking place at The Capitol on Friday 18th March. Join us for an evening of performance, poetry, music, and conversation to mark the beginning of the 2022 Festival.

The event opens with a performance by Philly, Bryan Andy, James Henry and Steven Rhall, exploring men's mental health. Following this, special guest Melissa Lucashenko speaks to the theme 'What Changed? What Stayed the Same?', with a spotlight on poet Jazz Money, RMIT's Crystal McKinnon, RMIT Alumni Alexis Wright, poet Jazz Money, and Glenn Shea.
