About the exhibition

At a time of rapid technological ascension, remote monitoring and civic compliance how do we design for the world we want and create meaningful digital objects that recognise and respond to the issues of sustainability, ethics and surveillance that are rapidly coming to be the dominant challenges of our time? Drawing from the artist's collective backgrounds in jewellery, interactive art/design, electronics, ceramics and textiles, these works utilize bespoke microelectronics, jewellery fabrication, generative design, 3D printing, digital textiles and augmented reality in a bid to question how we might capture, project, and memorialize digital moments in precious data objects, connecting us across space and time.

This exhibition will activate the RMIT Design Archives and serve as the backdrop to three collaborative events facilitated by the RMIT Wearables and Sensing Network (W+SN) and the Monash Health Design Collab (DHCL) inviting industry networking and robust discussion around these issues.
