I am a Research Fellow with the Aquatic Environmental Stress (AQUEST) Research Group and Aquatic Pollution Prevention Partnership (A3P). My current research projects aim to inform smarter environmental policy and decision-making by understanding the impacts of treated wastewater, sewer overflows, contaminants of concern and sediment pollution. Outcomes from my research have directly contributed to enhancing environmental protection policies, optimizing pollution management strategies, and achieving impactful outcomes for government and industry partners.
I am experienced in both fundamental and applied research, project management, data analysis and consulting. I received my doctorate in 2018 from Griffith University where I harnessed natural experimental gradients to better understand the dynamics of invertebrates and plants in tropical and subtropical rainforests in Australia, Borneo and China. Following my PhD, I consulted on international natural resource projects helping clients to gain approvals and to deliver sustainable and environmentally compliant projects.
