If you are a current Year 12 student or a non-Year 12 applicant that is applying for multiple courses you should apply through VTAC.

After you submit your application, we may request additional supporting documentation (some may need to be certified) from you by email. You can also track any request and upload supporting documentation via My dashboard.

Applications can be submitted without all of the supporting documents, however, they cannot be assessed without all of the required documentation.

Supporting documentation may include:

  • any previous academic transcripts - this includes any subjects or courses you tell us you have attempted or completed
  • proof of completion for any subjects or courses you tell us you have completed
  • proof of relevant work experience if entered as part of your application

You may also choose to upload:

  • letters of support from your current or previous employer

Some courses require the completion of a selection task. If you are required to complete a selection task, you will be notified after your application has been submitted.

If you submit your application without all of the required documentation, be sure to come back and upload them as soon as possible to ensure your application can be assessed and processed promptly.

Important dates

Applications will be accepted for each course until all places are filled, so ensure you apply as early as possible for your application to be considered. Late applications may result in a delayed class commencement.

Some courses have timely close dates that you will need to submit your application by and are listed in Direct Application dates.

Check key dates before submitting your application to study with RMIT.

Do you have prior study and/or work experience?

If you have previously completed studies in a similar course or worked in the industry, you may be able to apply for Credit for Prior Study, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and/or Masters Advanded Standing which can reduce both the duration and cost of your course.

Scholarships

RMIT supports a comprehensive scholarship program which addresses some of the financial, educational and circumstantial disadvantages our students can face through their studies. The application process for a scholarship is separate to your course application. Most coursework scholarships open for application in the semester before they are awarded and paid.
