Benefits for internal applicants
- Free to apply – if you are applying for a vocational education or undergraduate program you save on application fees to VTAC.
- Easy to apply – your application starts pre-filled with details from your student record.
- More options – some programs are only open for current students and recent graduates.
Eligibility criteria
You can make an internal application if you:
- are an RMIT student who has held a place in a program in the past year, and
- are an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, a holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa or a non-resident of Australia currently in a distance education program, and
- meet the entry requirements for the program that you are applying for.

Current RMIT students
If you are currently enrolled in an RMIT program and your student number is active then you can apply as a Current RMIT student.
Log in to myRMIT and under 'Launch applications' select 'Apply for a program'.
Recent RMIT students
If you were enrolled in an RMIT program within the last year, but your enrollment is no longer active, then you can apply as a Recent RMIT student.
Log in to the RMIT application system apply as a recent student.
