This program is delivered primarily through on-campus, teacher-led classroom sessions, supported by supervised and self-directed learning activities. The training emphasises practical, industry-relevant cyber security applications, incorporating demonstrations, hands-on laboratory activities, and practical exercises to develop technical skills and applied knowledge. Classes are interactive and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and practice of new skills. In addition to developing cyber security knowledge, the program also supports the development of foundation skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and digital literacy. Students are expected to undertake self-directed learning outside scheduled class time, including independent research, reading, and practice activities to reinforce the concepts covered in class.
Teacher led Online Delivery -Part time (two years)
This delivery mode is designed for working professionals and students who are unable to attend on-campus classes and require a flexible online study option. The online offering includes the same content, learning outcomes, and training hours as the on-campus delivery. Training is delivered through teacher-led online sessions, supported by supervised and self-directed learning activities. The learning approach ensures that units are contextualised to current industry applications, with demonstrations, practical exercises, virtual labs, and workplace-relevant activities incorporated wherever appropriate. Online classes are interactive and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and the practice of new skills. In addition to developing the technical skills and knowledge required for cyber security roles, the program also supports the development of foundation skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and digital literacy. Students are also expected to undertake self-directed learning outside scheduled sessions, including independent research and reading of relevant course materials to reinforce their understanding. This offering is to support workforce upskilling in a priority skills area. Providing flexible delivery options will enable more working professionals to access cyber security qualifications, aligning the program with current industry needs and workforce demand.
