Students will complete both theory and practice in the preparation, placement, use, shutdown and clean up of Elevated work platforms up to 11 metres.
All assessments must be successfully completed for you to be awarded the unit of competency.
The program has been structured to be practical and to ensure that whatever the background of the student the activity will ensure that they can work safely on two different kinds of elevated work platforms under 11 metres.
The theory is completed upfront to ensure all students are aware of the safety requirements and considerations of working on elevated work platforms including use of harnesses.
The theory component will be facilitated online and students with prior experience of EWP and good literacy and numeracy skills will be able to progress more quickly to the practical components of the program.
The students are given the opportunity to practice using all equipment prior to assessment. Students will use both Boom lifts and Scissor lifts to complete their assessments.
