Trades Innovation Centre

RMIT's Trades Innovation Centre provides an opportunity for industry to test, learn, trial and demonstrate, and access RMIT’s expertise to solve real-world problems.

Students benefit from simulations, sector-leading equipment and teaching practices, and programs that integrate job-ready and future-ready industry skills.

The Trades Innovation Centre is also named Murmuk-nganjin marnang, meaning ‘We Work Hands’, following engagement with representatives of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation.

State-of-the-art facilities

RMIT’s Trades Innovation Centre is a cutting-edge facility offering the latest in skills training and technology for students and industry.

The 1,700 square metre modular design features adaptable spaces, including a 2.5-metre-deep sand pit, double-height workshop ceilings, and a three-storey training rig that mimics building construction for real-world experience.

Divided into ‘trade zones’, this allows students to gain hands-on experience while observing other trades, fostering a deeper understanding of how different trades intersect and work together.
