The entertainment begins at 6 pm with fifty minutes of genuine 1920s jazz from the Capitol Theatre Orchestra, featuring lively tunes. After a short break, enjoy the acclaimed film Chicago (2002), starring Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere.

Murderesses Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones) (a chanteuse and tease who killed her husband and sister after finding them in bed together) and Roxie Hart (Renée Zellweger) (who killed her lover when she discovered he wasn't going to make her a star) find themselves on death row together and fight for the fame that will keep them from the gallows in 1920s Chicago

The twelve-piece Capitol Theatre Orchestra was re-established last November to celebrate the centenary of Walter Burley Griffin's masterpiece, the Melbourne Capitol. In the 1920s, every notable theatre, hotel, and dance hall had an orchestra. Today, The Capitol continues this tradition with its magnificent 1920s theatre orchestra.
