Appeal for Final Notification of Intention to Report Unsatisfactory Attendance

Appeal Form for Final Notification of Intention to Report Unsatisfactory Attendance

Important Information
A requirement of your international student visa granted under the Australian Government's Education Services of Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 is that you must attend at least 80% of the scheduled hours of your course.

Your appeal against the previous notice was upheld due to compassionate and compelling circumstances. However, you were advised that if your attendance fell below 70%, RMIT University Pathways (RMIT UP) would be obliged to report to Department of Home Affairs (DHA), regardless of any compassionate or compelling circumstances.

As your projected attendance is below 70%, compassionate and compelling circumstances are not grounds for appeal in this instance. You have the right to lodge an appeal only if:
  • You believe RMIT UP has made an error in the attendance monitoring process
If you choose to lodge an appeal, you must attend all classes as normal.

Contact pathways.compliance@rmit.edu.au if you have any questions.
Submission Requirements
  1. Complete this form within 20 working days of receiving the notice of RMIT UP's final notice of intention to report that addresses the grounds that you feel will support your case. The Senior Pathways Planning and Operations Manager (or delegate) at RMIT UP will review the appeal and consult with relevant staff as required.
  2. Attach and submit supporting documentation as evidence.
