She leads a portfolio that protects and enhances RMIT’s international brand, reputation, reach and revenue. She works closely with colleges and portfolios to deliver RMIT’s strategic priorities.
Her portfolio brings together key functions including corporate communications, global marketing, global student recruitment, market insights, fundraising to support students, education and research, and engagement with alumni communities and industry.
Michelle joined RMIT in February 2026, bringing deep expertise in the education sector as both a strategic adviser and practitioner. She was previously KPMG’s National Lead Partner for Higher Education and led KPMG’s mid-market practice across primary, secondary and tertiary education. She also chaired the Lifelong Learning Taskforce, KPMG’s corporate social responsibility vehicle focused on education.
Earlier, Michelle held senior roles at Monash University and the University of Canberra covering alumni and external engagement, operational improvement, student-facing transformation, and the creation of new models for collaboration between higher and vocational education.
Michelle has completed the High Potentials Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. She holds a Master of Public Policy and Management and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours).
She is known for her inclusive leadership style and for bringing people together to deliver positive outcomes for students, staff, and partners.
