Vice-President International

Layton Pike is the Vice-President International.

Layton is responsible for RMIT’s international strategy and agenda across the Asia Pacific, including Southeast Asia. 

His portfolio manages RMIT’s flagship international industry and government partnerships across priority countries including India, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Indonesia and is responsible for global industry and innovation hubs and Asia impact program. 

Prior to joining RMIT in 2019, Layton was a federal diplomat, undertaking postings in Vietnam and the Philippines. He has also worked in senior government roles in Canberra, including as a chief of staff to the federal attorney general.  

Layton is Chair of the Board of RMIT Vietnam and a Board Member of RMIT Europe. 

Layton is also a member of the International Education Advisory Council in Victoria and the Advisory Board for Development Studies at the University of Melbourne.  

He holds degrees in law and commerce and is admitted to practice in the ACT Supreme Court. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
