WIL agreement and insurance

Yes. The WIL Agreement is signed by you, the student(s) and RMIT, and ensures all parties understand and agree to their role and responsibilities in the WIL Activity. The WIL Agreement's key clauses include expectations, IP ownership, insurance coverage, confidentiality, and responsibilities.

Yes. RMIT covers students whilst on a university approved WIL activity when a WIL Agreement is in place for the following types of insurances:

  • Professional Indemnity  
  • Personal Accident  
  • Public Liability  

If a student is being paid by you for their WIL activity and deemed an employee, then you must have sufficient WorkCover insurance as per workers’ compensation laws to cover your employee.
