About

Liam Gibbons is a teacher, researcher, gamemaker, and writer living and working on Boon Wurrung Country, in Melbourne, Australia. He holds a PhD in reflective, shortform game design. His practice involves 3D virtual environments and videogames.

Teaching interests

Liam teaches into the Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) program in the School of Design. He is currently teaching the following courses:

  • Digital Media Specialisation — 3D Modelling
  • Digital Media Specialisation — Virtual Environments
  • Digital Media Studio 3-5 — Minimalist Interactives & Environments

 

Research interests

Liam investigates the structures and aesthetics of reflective, shortform videogames through a creative practice-based research approach.
