Thuy Nguyen is currently a lecturer at the School of Accounting, Information Systems & Supply Chains and Deputy Director of RMIT Business and Human Rights Centre, RMIT University, Australia. She achieved her Doctor of Science from Kobe University (Japan) in 2009. Before RMIT, she worked as an academic, professional, and policy adviser in several countries.
As an academic, she has published papers on issues in logistics and supply chains, particularly issues in information sharing, digital technologies implementation. She is also very interested in maritime transport and labor issues in global supply chains and the maritime industry. Her teaching courses at RMIT are maritime logistics, shipping business management, strategic supply chains, port and terminals management, and transportation and freight logistics. Before RMIT University, she worked at the University of Liege (Belgium), The California State University (USA), the Center of Transportation Research (France), and Vietnam Maritime University. She also has been invited as a visiting scholar and/or A/Prof/guest-lecturer at Incheon National University and Sunchon National University (Korea), University of Nantes (France), The World Maritime University (Sweden), and National Economics University (Vietnam), Etc. She has led and participated in many projects funded by World Bank, JICA, UNDP Vietnam, the Vietnam government, EU Commission Funds, industries, etc. The total funded projects led by her is about US$3 million.
As a policy adviser, she was the representative of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, participating in several ASEAN and APEC meetings and workshops (Vietnam representative) from 2010 to 2015, discussing the strategies and activities to improve transport network, global supply chain resilience, and public partnership for APEC’s supply chain connectivity, as well as transport and logistics network issues and solutions for ASEAN, including maritime and road transport’s labor issues.
As a professional, she was the former Founder and Director of Japan-Mekong Logistics Training Center (Vietnam) and the former Regional Manager of supply chain and distribution at V&A Liangos (Australia).

Research interests
Thuy's research interest includes sustainability of logistics and supply chains, information sharing and digital technologies in supply chains, maritime supply chains, human resource management in supply chains, and business ethics and human rights in supply chains.
