Research

RMIT’s Criminology and Justice Studies is home to nationally and internationally recognised research expertise in preventing violence against women, sex work regulation and law reform, miscarriage of justice, forensic interviewing, as well as social welfare and family policy.

Our core research addresses overarching themes of policing, gendered violence, miscarriages of justice and social inequities.

Our research and expertise have directly informed policy and practice on issues such as illicit drugs, domestic violence, sexual offences, cyber crimes, counter terrorism, sex work and social welfare.

RMIT's Criminology and Justice Studies is determined to develop skilled, work-ready graduates. As part of this mission we have several work-integrated learning programs so that students can gain hands-on experience in criminal justice industries.
