Researching your uni options can feel like the be-all and end-all of your high school experience. But what if there was a business degree built just for you?

Between the pressure of choosing the ‘right’ course and the anxiety of not wanting to limit your opportunities, researching your future can be a tricky process to navigate.

But what if there was a business degree built just for you?

RMIT’s Bachelor of Business is designed to fit around your interests today while enabling you to explore new areas tomorrow. Unlike traditional degrees where your study focus is locked in, this business degree gives you the chance to mix and match your majors and minors (also known as primary and secondary areas of study). And the best part is that you can keep shifting and changing the degree as you find your footing at uni.

Whether you’re in Year 10 or 11 and are researching your options, or you’re a Year 12 preparing to finalise your preferences, here’s how the Bachelor of Business can guide you to what you want to study.

Five tips to get started if you aren’t sure what to study at uni

  1. Make a list of your favourite subjects at school. If none seem to stand out, think about specific classes you enjoyed and why. For example, you might find business management difficult as a whole subject, but really enjoy the classes where you learn how businesses are planned and started.
  2. Write down things that are important to you in a future job. Some examples might be flexibility, creativity, stability, enjoyability, salary and global opportunities.
  3. Think about what you’re good at. What do you do in your spare time? Can you attribute that activity to a specific skill or strength? For example, if you’re a debating captain, your strengths might be in communication, leadership and advocacy.
  4. Identify what you’re curious about. Are you already curious about a few career paths, or do you have broad questions like, “How does a product get onto our shelves?”
  5. Understand how university majors and minors work. In RMIT’s Bachelor of Business, you can use majors and minors to build your own degree that grows alongside your interests.
