I decided to study the Diploma of Community Services because I have a real passion for helping young people.
I liked the idea of doing a diploma, because there's so many different areas that you can get experience in and then decide what you want to do.
All of the teachers that taught me were all from the industry so they could really relate to what actually happens on the job.
They also shared a lot of their personal experiences as well which really helped me in my learnings. The reason why I chose the diploma was because there was an element of placement. Being someone that learns on the job, it was really beneficial for me.
I was lucky enough to do placement at Killara Foundation. Killara is working with young Indigenous people to close the gap in employment with young people.
