The Creds difference

Improve your employability, career outcomes and life skills

The world of work is changing due to the impacts of Industry 4.0. Employers are looking towards skills-based hiring and candidates who can show they have a range of work-ready skills. That’s why it’s important for you to boost your skills and knowledge to remain competitive.

Known as transferable or soft skills, these skills represent capabilities you need to adapt to the changing world of work. In fact, by 2030, it's estimated that two-thirds of Australian jobs will rely on soft skills.

Soft skills are valued by employers as they contribute to business success. A person with strong digital literacy can communicate and engage with customers online. Individuals with strong collaboration skills can negotiate effective partnerships and build strong team dynamics. Critical thinkers can use analysis and insight to develop business solutions.

RMIT Creds can help you develop these soft skills, whether you are a student, new to the workforce or an ongoing life learner.

Creds benefits:

  • Demonstrate attainment of capability
  • Valued by employers and business
  • Show you value professional development
  • Applicable across many industries and jobs
  • In demand for those seeking leadership roles
  • Relevant for personal life as well as work

Industry engagement at the core of RMIT Creds

Backed by industry, RMIT Creds are current and valid for the changing world of work. We work with business and employer groups to develop Creds that align with capabilities relevant to today's industry. These include:

  • Global outlook
  • Leadership
  • Digital
  • Critical thinking
  • Cultural intelligence
  • Communication

Because we work alongside business, you know that Creds offer industry value and integrity. We also regularly review course content to ensure Creds stay relevant and responsive to the latest industry trends.

Innovative design

We use design and high-quality principles to guide the development of RMIT Creds.

  • Relevant and valued by industry
  • Content applicable to the real-world
  • Interactive and creative
  • Authentic and rigorous industry-validated assessment
  • Bite-size learning

Learn new skills quickly and effectively at your own pace. Most Creds are available online and are short in duration, ranging from 60-minute snippets to several hours of learning. And you can stack Creds to create more extensive learning programs.

Badges worth sharing

After you complete a Cred you can claim a digital badge, which is a verified and secure certification of your achievement.

Digital badges are fast becoming recognised by industry and employers, and are a great way to communicate your achievements. And you have control over how you distribute, publish and share your badge across digital networks.

You publish and manage your badge using Credly, RMIT’s credentialing platform partner. From there you can share your badge with peers, clients, employers or on social networks like LinkedIn.
