Bodies in Space/Bodies and Space

Working across fine art, fashion and textiles, performance, and dance, panelists will share the interdisciplinary methodologies that they employ to consider the spaces in and around the body.

Join us for a panel discussion with Shian Law, Anne Wallace and Associate Professor Ricarda Bigolin, moderated by curator Dr Drew Pettifer.

This panel discussion explores the ways in which creative practice can contextualise the distinctions between body and space and between body and Other. Working across fine art, fashion and textiles, performance, and dance, the panelists will share the interdisciplinary methodologies that they employ to consider the spaces in and around the body within their practices. They will also share some insights into how other practitioners within their fields approach these questions.

This event accompanies the exhibition Agent Bodies at RMIT Gallery which questions the various ways that contemporary creative practices engage with themes of human agency, performance, identity, and the body. This event is co-presented by RMIT Culture and CAST OUT LOUD, an initiative of the RMIT CAST research group.
