CITY IN VITRO Open synthesis city platforms

Cities are the most complex constructs created by humanity, yet the way we design and build them is not resonant with principles of complexity. CITY IN VITRO will look at the evolution of built ecologies at the intersection of In Vitro of computational engines and In Vivo of pressured cities in the race for net zero.

It will gather representatives from leading industry, governance and city alliances to discuss the capacity of collaborative, AI-powered simulation platforms to uncover possible futures for the built environments as true ecologies of complex systems.

About the event

Side event at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona 2022

CITY IN VITRO is an exciting opportunity for those interested in future city strategies, AI, the physical and digital intersection, the built environment, and even the future of creativity to learn about the latest innovations in the field and network with industry leaders. Attendees can expect insight into how AI and metaverse platforms are changing how we design and build cities and how these changes will impact the possible futures of built environments. 10 min presentations by guests will set the stage for a 45 min panel discussion, and up to 15 min Q&A. Professor of Design Innovation RMIT Architecture Dr Alisa Andrasek will be moderating the panel. The event will be live-streamed and recorded for future viewings online.
