Work with us

CO:MADE works with industry, government, cultural organisations, communities and researchers to address the complex challenges facing fashion and textile systems.

Whether you're looking to develop a collaborative research project, access specialist expertise, explore funding opportunities or translate research into practice, we'd love to work with you.

We believe the best research happens through collaboration. By bringing together expertise across design, engineering, materials science and the social sciences, we develop research that responds to real-world challenges and creates meaningful impact.

Our partnerships range from short-term projects and strategic advice through to long-term research collaborations, nationally funded initiatives and international partnerships.

How we collaborate

Collaborative research

We co-design research with industry, government, cultural organisations and community partners to address emerging challenges and opportunities. Projects range from exploratory studies and pilot projects through to large-scale nationally and internationally funded research collaborations.

Research consultancy & strategic advice

Our researchers provide independent, evidence-based expertise to support organisations with sustainability and circular economy transitions, innovation, industry transformation, policy development and strategic decision-making.

Industry partnerships & innovation

We work with organisations across the fashion and textile value chain to develop innovative products, materials, manufacturing systems, circular business models and new approaches to design, production and consumption.

Policy & government engagement

We collaborate with governments and policymakers to generate research that informs policy, supports industry transformation and contributes to more sustainable, resilient and equitable fashion and textile systems.

Materials testing & technical expertise

CO:MADE brings together expertise in textile engineering, fibre science, garment performance and advanced materials to support product testing, material evaluation and technical research across a wide range of textile applications.

Research translation & impact

We work with partners to translate research into practice through applied research, knowledge exchange, implementation strategies and collaborative innovation. Whether supporting product development, organisational change or policy, our focus is on ensuring research creates meaningful impact.

Education, workshops & capability building

We design workshops, masterclasses, professional development programs and collaborative learning experiences that connect research with practice and build capability across industry, government and communities.

Student & research partnerships

We facilitate opportunities for organisations to collaborate with HDR candidates, research fellows and academic staff through internships, placements, co-designed research projects and funded research partnerships.

Funding & partnership development

We have experience developing projects for competitive research funding, industry partnerships, philanthropic initiatives and government programs. Whether you're exploring a new idea or looking to build a long-term collaboration, we can help identify opportunities and develop projects with clear pathways to impact.

Let's start a conversation

Every partnership begins with a conversation.

Whether you're an industry partner, government agency, researcher, cultural organisation or community group, we'd welcome the opportunity to explore how we can work together to shape the future of fashion and textiles.
