The Next Generation Internet Architecture Research Group brings together researchers in protocols, network and application design and telecommunication and network engineering.
Our infrastructure and facilities
The Group has access to a range of infrastructure and facilities including GPON, HFC, 4G, software defined networking testbed and protocol design and analysis tools. The group has access to industry and vendor support.
Current research activities
The Group is focusing on advanced protocols and network design that overcomes the major challenges facing telecommunications and networks today.
The Group has secured Australian Research Council funding for infrastructure and research into a Group focus area. The Group is a part of the School of Engineering which has achieved a "4" in the ERA 2012 rankings for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (0906), which indicates research quality above world standard.
The Next Generation Internet Architecture Research Group welcomes requests from Australian and international candidates for research positions.
There are currently no openings, with only the possibility of applying for competitive fellowships with the Group's support in the case of applicants with excellent track records.

Please note all scholarship deadlines on the RMIT website, and we encourage future potential applicants to contact us well in advance.
Scholarships for international applicants are extremely competitive, and we can only consider candidates with an existing record of peer-reviewed journal articles.
