Hi, my name is Trishla. I just completed my Master's of Design, Innovation  and Technology at RMIT University.

When I moved to Melbourne, my first impression  was of the city, that it's very diverse. There are people and students coming in  from different countries and cultures.

Everyone's here for a purpose, to grow,  and that energy is very contagious.

I wanted a shift in my career towards  design strategy and business development.

The one that stuck with me was  RMIT Design Innovation because it talked about growing your  career as a design strategist

to be able to work in different  industries, to have more options and work in an innovation space.

I like that Melbourne is surrounded by the  design culture. Moving around the city, you can always find an exhibition  piece or people in different museums.

The gallery, the library, they're all  very fun to attend and just walk into.

One of my favourite highlights in my entire  course has to be the one that I did for MPavilion.

The opportunity as an architect  to be able to stand there and facilitate an exhibit that talks  about new design innovations

that are coming up, regenerative  design and to be able to talk to people coming in from that  industry was quite interesting.

As a designer, that is something where I grew.

I worked as a part time design strategist  for the second year of my course and also the fact that Melbourne  Design Week happens right in the city.

There are so many different  events that are happening, conferences, panel talks, and I  really enjoyed that experience.

I feel really excited that  I'm approaching graduation.

While I enjoyed my two years  that I spent over my course,   I'm so ready to get back into the industry. I feel grounded. I feel more wiser.

I feel like I am prepared to  step back into design studios and to use everything that I've learned  and feeling really, really happy.

My parents will be coming in  to support me for my graduation and it's very, very fun for me because my mother  is flying to Australia for the first time.

She has not been here before.  My mum is a big fan of nature. I think the first place I would love  to take her would be botanical gardens.

She is that mother who likes  to take pictures with flowers. She'll just stop at the middle of the road  and she'll be like, wow, yellow flower.

I would like to thank my parents for  supporting me in this creative industry.

I know that this is a new territory for them   to be able to support my  instincts, support my decisions.

I'm really happy that they were there  for me and did not make me feel like   it's something that I will not be able to do.

They were very proud of me and I hope that  I can make them more proud in the future.

One thing that I would like to tell my future  self is to enjoy it and to be in the moment, to just enjoy the process, to enjoy the experience  as it is while you're in it and not overthink.

I think my plan would be to  start working as a designer   because obviously I have a long way to go.

That takes time, that takes  experience and I want that exposure. So definitely for the next while I would like  to work and just step back into the industry.
