Pay careful attention to the advice provided in the “Comments” column in the search tool, as these comments specify any additional requirements for your courses of interest. There are three types of courses you can select for study as a Study Abroad or Exchange student:
- Recommended courses: These courses are open for enrolment and have a faster approval time.
- Restricted courses: These courses have pre-requisite requirements and usually require related prior study. Enrolment in these courses require approval from the owning RMIT School to ensure you have completed the equivalent prerequisites at your home university. RMIT cannot assess suitability prior to your application; your suitability for selected Restricted courses will be completed as part of your application assessment.
- Vocational Education (Early Start Date) courses: These courses have an earlier start date. Visit the Vocational Education important dates to learn more.
Please note that the following type of courses are strictly not open to exchange and study abroad students (but not limited to):
- Single courses that are worth 36 or 48 credit points,
- Any research type courses including thesis courses,
- Courses that form part of an honours one year degree or are at research academic level (Master by Research or PhD).
Undergraduate (bachelor) students should select undergraduate level courses. Postgraduate (master) level students should select postgraduate level courses. If you are interested in a course that is at a different study level, approval is at the discretion of the owning RMIT School.
All courses are subject to availability and can change without notice. RMIT reserves the right to refuse entrance to any course.
