RMIT Australian Screen Research Collection

A specialist film and television resource open to the public, featuring materials from Australia and abroad.

The RMIT Australian Screen Research Collection (RMIT ASRC) is dedicated to the collection and preservation of an extensive array of resources that delve into screen theory, film history and the rich tapestry of Australian film culture.

Since 2003, RMIT has curated a diverse assortment of materials that reflect the breadth of global cinema and television. The collection includes books, journals, stills, posters, film and television scripts, directories, reports, festival catalogs and a variety of promotional and production materials.

Through the RMIT ASRC, the university supports current and future scholars, educators, historians, researchers and the broader community. We are proud to house significant archives, including those from the AFI/ACCTA, Crawford Productions, the Australian Writers’ Guild and other notable organisations.

As the current custodian of the Australian Film Institute Research Collection, the RMIT ASRC is committed to fostering research and education in the dynamic fields of screen and media studies.
